I have a Bachelor's degree in Math and in Physics from San Francisco State University, from where I graduated summa cum laude and was the top student in my class. I also have a Master's degree in Physics from the University of California, Santa Barbara. Studying physics requires a LOT of math, so my training in it has trained me very well in math as well.
Experience: 12 years
I have a lot of experience teaching algebra at any level. I have worked with students in middle school all the way to college. I can help with pre-algebra, elementary algebra, advanced algebra or any other math class (Please see my other profiles for other math classes if you'd like more details).
I have been working as a math tutor for many years now, and have learned to detect what exactly is giving my students a hard time. Uncovering the root of the problem is very important, especially because, usually, once you know that you will find learning math so much easier.
I'm also not only very patient, but also creative in my explanations. I find that simply repeating the same thing over and over is not very useful. Instead, I will explain it in a new way, until I can find the one that works for you.
