2005- Present date
Work as a teacher in language schools.
Feb 2008 to May 2008
Worked for Emerson.
Working responsibilities as the teacher are as follows:
• Placement tests
• Lessons planning and prepairing
• Classroom management
• Selection of supplementsry materials
• Familiarising learnes with the target language cultute
I always use supplementary materials in addition to the main course. Extra communicative activities, games and sometimes videos make learning fun. Videos and authentic texts can be a great source of cultural information as well as motivate students and activate them during the lesson. Also I pay much attention to personalizing my teaching so as to match learners’ needs and preferences. I encourage students to use English and Russian in their out-of-class time.
They could listen to the radio, find a pen friend, read books, watch movies, etc.
Watching movies is a great way to learn English.
Also I pretty often use on-line materials from different sites such as englishtips.org, youtube.com, www.americanrhetoric.com, isohunt.com, http://www.learnenglish.de/, http://www.englishclub.com/, http://www.learn-english-online.org/, rollingstoneonline.com, http://www.world-english.org/, http://www.bbc.co.uk/worldservice/learningenglish/index.shtml, http://www.pronunciationpatterns.com/ and others.
I think that new technological opportunities have been developed over the last few years and now we can benefit much from using them.
I am a good internet and computer user and I want to apply my knowledge in a really useful project such as making flash programs for on-line courses or organizing such kind of courses for those who want to learn English or Russian.
