My name is Tom Babel. Born in Germany, I spent some of my childhood in Canada and studied and worked in England; thus I am a bilingual speaker (and professional part-time translator) of English and German. For the past twelve years I have been working as a CELTA and BERLITZ qualified English teacher in various countries, including Russia, and have gained extensive experience in teaching various age groups and levels. Also I have run preparation courses for international tests, such as IELTS, TOEFL, FCE, PET.
People learn English for various reasons – school, job, career, as a hobby or challenge, or simply because they want to be able to communicate with speakers of other languages. There are various approaches how to teach English skills. Therefore my first task is to understand a student’s particular needs and learning style. Then I provide the materials and exerices that will enable them, in the shortest possible time, to use the language in the real world. Because dialogues and conversations are the main forms of daily communication, together we choose topics of interest and relevance and develop them from basic to more complex situations. This approach is a combination of "unplugged" speaking and a structured framework which I've developed over the years that covers all the major topics of life and the language (literally from A to Z!). I use Skype video, an interactive whiteboard, and other resources to make sure on-line learning is as effective and entertaining as classroom lessons.
So find out if it works for you in a free demo lesson. Hope to see you soon!
