Hello. My name is Neil Sharpe and I am British. I studied at the Royal Scottish Academy Of Music and Drama in Glasgow, Scotland and gained a BA in Piano Music Performance and a Diploma in Opera Studies and Piano Accompaniment. After college I worked at Scottish Opera as the Music Director of the Education department and had the privilege of meeting Leonard Bernstein while I was there. In 1989 I moved to Japan and worked as a freelance accompanist and ensemble player. In 1997 I moved back to the UK and was employed as a piano teacher and the official accompanist at the Milton Keynes Music Service. In 2007 I was offered a five year contract to teach piano and chamber music at the Showa Academy Of Music near Tokyo, Japan. In 2012 my piano student came top in the graduation exams. After that I decided to fulfill my lifelong dream and came to Hungary to do some private research into the music of Liszt and Bartok and this is what I am doing at the moment.
I have a beautiful German 165 cm. baby grand piano which is tuned regularly and has a great sound. I look forward to teaching students of all levels from beginner to professional. I can teach in English and Japanese.
Best wishes from Neil Sharpe.
