Slow photography... taking time, taking pictures
I began taking photographs when I was eight. After completing a first degree in Social Sciences, I gained a Post Graduate Certificate in education, and for three years I lectured in communication at Manchester Polytechnic. I began working in the communications industry in 1980 as a photographer, scriptwriter, director, producer and presenter. In 2001 I returned to education and gained a Masters Degree in photography, after which I lectured at Liverpool, Chester and Stafford Universities.
Experience: 35 years
The digital camera allows us to slimply take hundreds of pictures at virtually no cost - It's fantastic, but to me what is even better is taking your time to take photgraphs........ Slow food? Definitely, and now slow photography.... an alternative to the MacDonald's approach to photography
This is not a course of study that requires expensive equipment or a lot of experience, though I'm pleased to say people who have been taking photgraphs for many ŷears have found my ideas helpful. You'll be trying out new ideas, approaching your photography in a different way, and finding greater pleasure in getting the results you want.
I have Masters degree in photography, have worked as a photographer and director, and taught photography, at several universities in the UK.
