You can become more confident quickly. But to become confident you need to first make real progress. And real progress requires correction, daily review, focused lesson, and repetition.
That's how my students gain confidence quickly.
5-10 minutes Warm up (easy conversation)
1-5 minutes Review previous grammar/vocab
5-10 minutes Correct, discuss homework
(varies) Planned lesson
1-5 minutes Review new vocab, plan homework and next lesson
Do you want homework? If you do, great! You’ll make faster progress. But, you also have to be realistic. If you don’t have time, then you don’t have time, and we’ll just have to make the most out of the class time.
However, I do ask everybody, no matter how busy they are, to do one thing: bring a notebook to class. This will be an empty notebook specifically for taking notes and recording new vocabulary. Not only does the act of writing help your memory to save new information, it will be your record of new words. And this is useful because each lesson you will be quizzed on the vocab from the previous lesson. Everybody, no matter how busy, can find the time to learn 5-10 new words every week.
Please write if you have any questions or would like to schedule a free sample lesson.
