Native Cantonese speaker, Linguistics major
|languages||Chinese, English, Russian|
I graduated Magna Cum Laude and Phi Beta Kappa from Dartmouth College in 2013. Before attending Dartmouth, I spent the summer in Hong Kong preparing students aged 13-17 for the IGCSE English exam. I was also an English conversation partner for kids aged 8-12. While at Dartmouth, I tutored my peers in various social sciences and humanities, such as Linguistics, Russian Language, Writing Skills, Human Geography, etc. I was also the teaching assistant of a Russian Literature class.
After graduating from Dartmouth, I worked at a chain tutoring company in the LA area as a college admissions counselor and a test prep teacher. I offered general academic and college admissions advice to 60+ students and actively edited college applications and essays for 15+ students. I also taught classes on SAT Critical Reading and ACT English, each of which had about 20 students.
