Explore international relations theories and U.S. foreign policy through the lens of the Atlantic Union Movement in the U.S. Congress. Course includes a basic chronology of the movement as well as the complete set of hearings held from 1949 to the 1970s. Few political scientists realize that there was an elaborate movement to transform NATO into an Atlantic Union, federal or otherwise. This course will put IR into serious historical perspective. Instructor is a former VP of the Association to Unite the Democracies (formerly known as Federal Union, Inc).
