Hello! I am a professional teacher who comes from a multicultural background and I love my job. I am bilingual, Serbian and English native speaker and I am very interested in different cultures.
I grew up and finished school in Serbia. I have also studied and lived in Japan for one year and I love Asian countries as you can deduce from my qualifications.
I decided to become a teacher because I really enjoy my work and the interaction with people from all over the world.
I hold a Bachelor of Languages, English, Japanese and French, a Master's degree in Japanese Studies
I have studied at the University of Belgrade and I worked there freelance offering private lessons and working for schools like St. Nicolas where I coached school children, taught adults and employees. I have taught English, Japanese, French and Serbian. Now, I am also teaching Japanese to beginners. My students are usually international.
Experience: 8 years
My focus lays on speaking and comprehension skills is that these are the most difficult ones for foreign language lerners. Most language courses concentrate on grammar and reading comprehension skills, but, at the end, learners seem to have difficulties in communicative interaction. That’s right: grammar is an essential part of the language learning process, but students can still learn to speak naturally and enjoy the lesson at the same time from the very beginning. How?
My specific method helps language learners activate their knowledge. The first step is the acquisition phase, during which you learn vocabulary, grammar and how to use the language. After a couple of exercises (games, role play etc.) the class ends with the activation phase, during which you will be able to use indipendently what you have learnt so far. I will speak with you in the target language more and more as you progress from the very beginning, so that you get used to the language as soon as you start learning it.
The most satisfying aspect of my job is when people realize that they are able to express themselves in the target language. It makes me feel that I was part of their success and I gave them something important in their path.
