I am originally from Seattle, Washington, but am currently living in Hamburg, Germany. I am very passionate about language; in my spare time I love to read, write, edit, and study foreign languages. I have experience teaching English of all levels (A1–C2) and with all types of language goals, from conducting simple conversations to applying for jobs. I enjoy working with motivated students of all ages who are eager to learn, no matter what their proficiency level may be.
I leave the subject matter and speed in which I instruct entirely up to the student. I believe that tailoring lessons to the individual is essential for growth and collaboration.
I cover most aspects of the English language, including conversation, grammar, vocabuary, composition, and listening skills. If a student wishes to learn more about a subject I am not familiar with, I am more than willing to expand my knowledge in this area to accommodate them. I, too, am always looking to learn!
I am available most hours of the day and am willing and flexible to schedule specific times for meeting with students.
Please feel free to add me on Skype (haley.mathisen) for any questions or to arrange an appointment.
Thank you and I look forward to working with you!
