I attened SUNY (State University of New York) Binghamton a very well regaurded public school in America, where I studied a vast mixture of History, Economics, Sociology, and Political Science.
< p>I also attended a high school for the Preforming Arts, where in addition to being the captain of two sports teams (Soccer and Lacrosse) I was exposed to art and culture on a wider scale than I would have been without this opportunity.
I am very greatful for my education, and plan to attend Law School in America sotime in the near future.
& nbsp; I have worked with quite possibly the widest socio-economic range of students possible. I have mentored at The Children's Village in Westchester County, NY, a place where young children with difficult and often violent homelives come to reform and lose the anger, hopefully, that comes with such a trying childhood.
I have also taught American immigrants preparing for the U.S. citizenship exam English while in college.
My first ESL experience in a foreign country was in China in 2011, where I taught a mixture of business English, and TOEFL prep classes in the city of Guangzhou.
I currently reside and teach in Taipei Taiwan, where I have primarily taught younger students (kindergarden and elementary students), while still working to privately tutor high school students looking to study in American Universities.
Experience: 5 years
I have taught English all around the world. I have taught 2 year olds in Taiwan to 60 year old businessmen in Guangzhou and Shanghai.
I started teaching refugees and new American citizens while in University.
The main difference you get with me is that I will make you think in English. Any teacher can read a book with you, or slowly plod through a dry and boring textbook. I promise you that will never happen in my class.
I believe language learning is rooted in intrest first and for most, and that is what I will strive to give each and every student. Simply put, you tell me what your interests are and I will make a lesson around it.
Although I am young I routinely am called on by large firms in Taiwan to hold seminars to help new teachers become dynamic educators.
I also offer discounted rates with each student that is added b/c I believe discussion and debate are keye assets in helping students THINK IN THE LANGUAGE, not just repeat vocab words and canned sentences.
