English lessons from an experienced tutor
|languages||English, Serbian, Spanish|
I graduated from University of Novi Sad with a degree in Sociology, but have been working as a private English tutor for more than 10 years, giving private English lessons to elementary and high school students in my hometown of Novi Sad. I've been teaching my students grammar, vocabulary and new phrases. I also have experience in teaching English to foreign students, giving that I had lived in Guayaquil, Ecuador, where I had worked for a charity organization, and my job consisted of preparing and conducting English lessons to children and youth aged between 6 and 18. Apart from that, I have participated in Together Exchange Experiences cultural exchange program, also in Ecuador, where I prepared and conducted English conversational lessons to Work and Travel program participants, basically preparing college students for their American Embassy interview, and their overall Work and Travel experience.

Hi, my name is Maja, and I am an experienced English tutor from Novi Sad, Serbia. I offer two kinds of classes - general English classes and conversational classes. When it comes to general English lessons, we'll work on your grammar, vocabulary, pronunciation, basically, we'll do everything to improve your English level. And when it comes to conversational leesons, the goal is to improve your conversational ability and skills. It's all about freestyle conversation, and each lesson is tailored to suit your interests and needs in a given moment.
In general, I can say that there is not one single best method for everyone in all contexts. The most important thing for me is to identify the needs of the student(s), meaning - what are your language goals, what do you want to focus on in class, how do you want to use English in your life, what do you need it for etc. Then I will determine your strengts and weaknesses, and we'll go from there. If you only want conversational English classes (without grammar, and you're not interested in correctness), we can talk about various topics, and I'll prepare lessons to suit your interest and needs. I can make a few suggestions on what I think you should work on (for instance - grammar, because for me, one doesn't go without the other), but in the end, it's up to you to decide.
