My tutoring experience, which lasted for the duration of a semester and consisted of over 100 hours of classroom teaching, was the most wonderful introduction to teaching that one could ask for. While teaching these children whatever I learned and understood so well in my high school days, I discovered a number of great things about the art of teaching school children. I learned that, as a teacher, you have to be conscious about the background of each and every student in the class room and make them aware of their learning objectives. While working with these students, I learned how to successfully resolve the doubts of individual students. I believe that it was during these sessions that I really grew as a teacher - addressing the questions posed by my students required making quick judgments about their knowledge, background and ability, and consequently, think of ways to make them work their way towards a solution in a manner that appeals best to their imagination. It was here that I learned how to develop personal bonds with students and I was enthralled to find that most of them performed exceedingly well in their examinations.
