About me

My name is Gabriel and I am a TEFL certified English Teacher living in Spain. I am an American originally from the San Francisco Bay Area where I was born and raised. I am very proud of where I am from, the Bay Area is truly a melting pot of cultures and was exposed to different languages and cultures most of my life. I have been always interested in learing new cultures, travelling and interested in languages. I studied Kinesiology at Arizona State University where I graduated with a Bachelor's degree and began a career in information technology. While I was in between jobs, I went on a summer holiday with my family to Europe which changed my life.

I stayed in Spain for a total of 2 weeks and when I returned home, I immediately began to look at careers in Spain. A career that kept coming up was a career in teaching English. One year after my trip, I sold all my things and moved to Spain where I enrolled in a TEFL class to earn my certificate. In this class, it taught numerous things however among the most important was how to lesson plan, have interesting classes, and understand how people learn languages. After earning my TEFL certificate I began teaching children and adults all over Madrid. My students enjoyed my classes because I was organized and did not waste time trying to "figure out" the class.

Fast forward to present day, I have been living in Spain for the past 5 years and currently teaching English at primary public school in Madrid. I have really loved teaching because I really enjoy seeing my students improve and gain confidence in learning English. In my classes I incorporate vocabulary, speaking, reading, and listening; by doing this, my students do not get bored/tired and engaged during the class. I enjoy teaching business English to students looking to learn about English in the business sector and I have prepared students for the following exams: KET, PET, FIRST, ADVANCED, y IELTS.
