I am currently an undergrad at the University of California, Santa Barbara. Before I decided to commit to UCSB, I was the AVID peer tutor for the AVID class, which consisted of juniors and seniors. Our AVID teacher made the students form groups of five and each group consisted of a different subject. Each group had a large white board present and I would walk around in rounds to assist each group and subject. Me being an AVID tutor not only helped my peers, but it also helped me retain the subject matter as well as build my communication skills. I received several awards at the end of the year. Also, I was recommended to younger students, so I also began tutoring students of other grades.
Experience: 4 years
Math is my strongest subject. I passed the AP exam and received several awards throughout high school. When I was an AVID tutor, students would mainly ask questions about math and I enjoyed helping them
