About me

My love for languages and stories led me to study journalism – during these three years of studies I took numerous language subjects.  I studied Afrikaans, English and isiZulu.  I furthered my studies and finished my honours in literature in 2015.  I believe in doing things excellently and also embody this value when it came to my studies: I am a member of the Golden Key International Honor Society for top academic achievers.  I also won the Human & Rousseau prize for best literature essay and the Tafelberg prize for best honours student in the

Department of Afrikaans at the University of Pretoria.

I am an excellent student and share my knowledge with my own students.  During my honours year I taught language and literature subjects to university students.  I also tutored various students privately.  In 2015 I was privileged to teach six Korean children.  They recently moved to South-Africa and it was lovely to learn about their culture whilst teaching them about my own heritage. My love for teaching and traveling led me to teach English in China for a year.  It was a life changing experience and I wish to continue teaching.

I have done a few attribute and personality tests – all of the assessments stated that I am creative.  I always aim to make my language lessons interesting and original in order to hold my students’ attention.  I am also very adventurous and curious.
